bar code blues
by Catherine Hales

absurdly held together spare parts surgically con-
noted in various discourses & ultimately dispensable

adverbial constructs to die for my tongue explore
your taste of freedom beyond these tracking motion
across oceans hollowed out random noise in the
data what’s yours & do you I’ll buy you

one & maybe often that’s the predictable car-
ded into the till & waiting for christmas enhanced
& altered allowing for migrations in line my
place or yours pinned down in the crossfire
of contradictions a radical overhaul lip-sych
simulation produced & processed according to

chipped bone teeth perfectly aligned immobilised
